March 23,1986 ~March 10, 2018

With heavy hearts, the family of Katie Jo would like to share her passing. Katie died of an accidental drug overdose. Her young life ended on March 10, 2018, at her home in Washington Terrace. Jerry and Cindy Tobias welcomed her birth on March 23, 1986. Katie sadly left us thirteen days before her 32nd birthday.

She lived in Ogden most of her life and graduated from Bonneville High School. She spent two years in California, with her older sister Julie, before returning to Utah.

Katie married Shawn Crabb in 2012 and together they created two amazing children, Serenity Snow and Liam Thomas Crabb. She was a loving mother and never imagined leaving them. They were her "everything."

Katie enjoyed working in clothing stores and loved fashion. She presently was a dental assistant at Tobias Dental Care in South Ogden. Katie enjoyed cooking and making unusual recipes. The family cabin in Alpine was a favorite get away, a place to spend time with her many friends. She was a big fan of sports and had a passion for the Washington Redskins.

Katie's personality was bubbly and upbeat. Her medical problems were an issue but she didn't complain. She endured several physical setbacks but kept smiling. In addition, Katie fought drug addiction. She had dark periods in her short life. Fighting the demon of addiction was ongoing, but the years of sobriety kept her determined to fight. Unfortunately, Katie fell into deep depression a few days before she died. Her family and friends are saddened that she lost the spirit to continue her battle. Please let your loved ones know the nightmare of addiction and the heartbreak it can bring.

Katie is survived by her children, Serenity and Liam; parents, Cindy and Jerry Tobias, Ogden; a brother, Justin Tobias (Jill), Marriot Slaterville; sister, Julie Tobias, California; nephew, Zack Tobias; nieces, Brooke and Aly; uncles, Scott Tobias (Dani), Nebraska; Dennis Tobias, Layton; Bill Miller (Tana), Syracuse; and several wonderful cousins.
